The "Nami Kaze Ryu" or "School of the Wave and the Wind" is a martial art strongly based on Zen, that inspires and characterizes the Zen rituals and methods of teaching. The scope of this Art is awareness of ones limits and overcoming them through the practice of the basic techniques (kata/form), of the true and proper physical "koan" (questions Zen), to "resolve" them through the "kan" (intuition) and the constant guide of the Maestro. The Maestro follows the students progress, step by step, guiding them, and pushing them, to be always "present", "conscious" and "independent". The expression, "Nami Kaze", in Japanese, is also used to indicate the overcoming the difficulties of life. The practice of this Art doesn't require specific athletic preparation, or experience in other schools of martial arts. In the Nami Kaze Ryu school we teach: · JuJutsu: fight techniques man to man, against one or more adversaries. · AikiJujutsu: Techniques combining Jujitsu and Aiki no jutsu. · Kenjutsu: Sword techniques (long and short) · Tantojutsu: Knife techniques · Bojutsu: Stick techniques
